Who I am

I am Tom Harkay and I have always loved the tropics. I am very passionate about the warmth and charm of these amazing places and their authentic tropical beauty. It is just so awesome and sometimes, it's even magical. Having authentic tropical elements as a part of your own personal tropical escape at home beings so much relaxation and positivity to life. I want to share my inspiration and ideas with you!

What I do

I specialize in tropical-inspired home styling, helping you bring relaxed, resort-style vibes into your everyday spaces. I focus on being as cost-effective as possible through DIY projects and only suggesting third-party assistance if it is absolutely needed. Whether it’s creating custom color palettes and mood boards, sourcing awesome authentic materials and decor, creating room layouts, or selecting tropical plants, I bring island living to your home without the stress and without the expense or need for major renovations.

Why I do it

My aim is to help you balance the stresses of life by having an amazing tropical escape at home so in between those rare vacations, you don't have to leave home to take a break. Your own tropical escape is always there when you need it! I truly believe that bringing elements of the tropics to your home creates a source of relaxation and peacefulness that is usually only found at far off tropical resorts.

While there is a lot of information about the tropics and interior design out there, no one has brought both together with the level of detail as I have and merged them into a single beautiful and amazing concept for the home

I truly believe that people can connect awesome tropical vacations and experiences to their homes to keep those experiences alive

I offer inspiration, ideas, and a lot of practical advice with motivational videos, easy-to-read formats, wonderful imagery, and some fun and humor built in too!

I empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the online classroom. While learners have 30 days to complete the assessment, access to the home transformation guide is available for a period of 12 months from the date of purchase.
